- I met 3,500+ Cowboys fans online during the 2013 season playing the weekly pick'em on NFL.com. Can you imagine if Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys had an extra staff of 3,500 people who have an eye for football and what's better, he don't have to pay them. Wouldn't you love to help the team and being a part of the success?
- Similar to the Jones family tradition of being the first to do something great, we at dallascowboysfans.com want to be the first fans in the NFL who have an input to the success of the team. This is much more than the 12th man, who has been known in the past for being the vocal disrupting fans at the game. We will have direct fan input from people who know and understand the game.
- If you want to participate, you can help in many ways. Local recruiting of players that may have the talent, but not noticed by the local media. We'd like to know who those people are and their credentials, i.e., height, weight, news paper articles, time in the 40, etc. Please look at more than the gridiron, this should include athletes in other sports that can be converted to football players as well. If you haven't noticed in the 2013-14 seasons, the game is really changing on defense. For example, CB's can't unload like they used to, so choosing an athlete with strong hitting skills isn't as important is someone who can play tight defense and go up and get the ball. Start looking for athletic basketball players in your area....Don't overlook volleyball players for defensive ends. Volleyball players have great timing skills and extremely disciplined on being in a certain area. I can easily see the right volleyball player able to knock down a lot of passes and keep to the outside and turn runs inside. Doesn't our team struggle with this?
- Last season I watched a lot of pre-season games with NFL network. During those pre-season games the Cowboys played, I knew exactly where we stood with some of our players and their weaknesses. In some cases, we captured frame by frame shots of footwork, balance, etc. and discussed it among some other super fans. We only shared among each other, but what if we could send that to Jason Garrett or one of his coaches? We could help them, by being the extra eyes. As this website grows with Cowboys fans, I feel we can do the same against our future opponents. Once the schedule comes out, we can break down each position and each weakness of each player and get that report to our coaches. Once we know the schedule, we can put 250 people on each team that we oppose and really analyse players. No one in the NFL has that kind of staff.
